In a major initiative, The National Solar Mission has set a target of 1,00,000 MW power generation using solar energy in India including 40,000 MW to be contributed using the Solar Rooftop Subsidy in Gujarat different sectors.



Residential Solar Rooftop Yojana 2019-20 in Gujarat will be under implementation to 31st March 2020. 

Residential Solar Rooftop Yojana will provide people to setup / install solar panels ranging 1 KW to 10 KW on their rooftops and get Rs. 10,000 from the state government and 30% subsidy from the central govt. Checklist of vendors under solar power policy 2020 at geda.gujarat.gov.in.

Any Residential consumer of any DISCOM, consumers having a residential property in their name are eligible to install a solar PV system on their rooftop(1 KW to 10 KW) from anyone supplier selected by the list of GEDA Empaneled Vendors. A list of these vendors is available on the GEDA web site www.geda.gujarat.gov.

An interesting beneficiary shall register their application through any of the GEDA registered approved impaneled vendors only. this beneficiary to get subsidy under Gujarat solar rooftop power policy 2018. The installed Solar Rooftop system must be a minimum of 1 kW capacity. The beneficiary must have 100 sq.ft. shadow-free area their Rooftop Solar Subsidy in Gujarat.

GUJARAT: In a major initiative, Govt.. of India, under the National Solar Mission has set a target of 1,00,000 MW power generation through solar energy in the country including 40,000 MW to be contributed through solar rooftops in various sectors.

In order to achieve this magnitude of capacity, Gujarat has been given the target of 8,024 MW Capacity of Solar Energy by 2021-22, out of which 3,200 MW is to be contributed by the rooftop segment.

Energy is consumed where it is generated; there would be no element of transmission loss or wheeling loss and such plants would be in the interest of the public at large as well as State Utilities. Therefore, with a view of promoting large-scale rooftop solar systems on private residential roofs-terraces, the Government has introduced a subsidy scheme for solar rooftops in the residential sector MGVCL solar rooftop.

MGVCL solar rooftop Private rooftop owners will be invited to participate in the program and generate revenue by giving private project developers their rooftop leases. The benefits of rooftop leasing are known as green incentives.

State subsidy of 40% shall be available for solar rooftop systems up to 3 kW; and 20 % for solar rooftop systems beyond 3 kW up to 10 kW, installed and commissioned by private residential customers.
